We should know more details once it goes official. Touted as The Smart Timepiece, this watch is the first to run on Wear OS and have mechanical hands and have a working full screen. LG Watch Timepiece hybrid smartwatch is rumored to go official as soon as this Monday, i.e., April 30th, 2018, is expected to come in two color versions: New Aurora Black and Cloud Silver and should be priced between $250 to $350 price range. And finally, here is a new one: the LG Watch W7. It is said that the company will be shipping the wearable with a 22 mm silicone rubber strap and should also get the ability to swap with any other 22 mm silicone rubber strap. It is said to measure 45.5 x 45.4 x 12.9 mm in size. The Watch screen can display watch faces and complications you can install from the Google Play Store. It is said to come with 240mAh battery and once it drains the 240 mAh battery, the device will still be able to continue tracking time at least for upto hundred hours, or roughly upto four days. It boasts a stainless steel body and IP68 water and dust-resistance certification. As for connectivity features it is expected to have Wi-Fi 802.11n, and Bluetooth 4.2 will be on board, but no cellular data support. It is said to sport a 1.2-inches 360×360 LCD screen. The LG Watch Timepiece is said to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 chipset and has 4GB of eMMC storage and 768 MB of RAM. Armanis refined style is reflected in all models, from the classic to more contemporary ones. Since it is a hybrid smartwatch it won’t be a straight-up smartwatch, instead, it will have a mechanical clock setup alongside the smart functions. Most wearables consumers that don’t opt for the Apple Watch prefer simpler fitness trackers from the likes of Fitbit and Xiaomi, leaving little room for another Android smartwatch with a near-useless gimmick.LG is said to be working on a new wearable dubbed LG Watch Timepiece which is a hybrid smartwatch and will run on Google’s Wear OS. It’s unlikely the Watch W7 will succeed in the current market. The Apple Watch itself sold over three times as well as all devices running Google’s Wear OS combined last year. LG’s watches have seen a bit of success as far as Android Wear devices go, but that’s not saying much. That said, there’s not much purpose in buying a smartwatch to use as an analog watch. That’s an interesting solution to perhaps the most common complaint of smartwatches: poor battery life. When in its “Watch Mode,” most of the smart features are disabled, allowing the watch to supposedly run for 100 days between charges. Specifically, the Watch W7 will have mechanical hands that run off a “highly precise quartz movement” and an analog watch face. In addition to some decent smartwatch specs (Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, 768MB of DDR3 RAM, 4 GB eMMC storage, 1.2-inch 360x360 round display 300 PPI), the Watch W7 brings some unique analog features. If this is the watch that was teased as the Timepiece back in April, then the Watch W7 will be LG’s first wearable to run Google’s revamped WearOS. Posted about my SAB listing a few weeks ago about not showing up in search only when you entered the exact name. Notorious leaker Evan Blass tweeted a few days ago that LG would be launching a new hybrid smartwatch, dubbed the LG Watch W7, alongside the V40 later this week. The Apple Watch 4 may be the most popular smartwatch option on the market today, but LG apparently thinks there is still room to compete.
